Bios Ceramics (often referred to as Bios R) is a specialised line of bioactive porcelain stoneware. These tiles are engineered with permanent treatments that provide antibacterial, self-cleaning, and pollution-reducing properties. All our sinks, shower trays and basin counter tops have Bios R as standard.

Key Technologies

The Bios range is divided into two primary specialised treatments:

  • Bios Antibacterial®: A silver-based treatment incorporated into the tile before firing that eliminates 99.9% of the four main bacterial strains, including Staphylococcus aureus and E. coli.

  • Bios Self-Cleaning®: Designed for outdoor facades, this treatment uses titanium dioxide to trigger a photocatalytic reaction that decomposes organic pollutants and allows rainwater to wash away dirt.
